Are you looking to start a new dental practice? Then there’s good news, so read on.

Are you looking to start a new dental practice? Then there’s good news, so read on.

For the first time in decades, there’s been an overhaul to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) system.

The changes, which come into effect on 1 September 2020, will see several Use Classes (including D1) revoked, and replaced by several new Classes, including a new Class E (commercial use class) coming into play.

This may be of particular interest if you want to open a new dental practice in a new location/premises as from the beginning of September it will be much easier to obtain the planning permission required to do so.

The new E Class will also allow a building to be used flexibly, have several uses taking place concurrently and allow different uses to take place at different times of the day, again making it much easier for you to set up and run a practice from a new location.

For further information on the upcoming changes to the Use Classes system please click here.
