A new membership giving UK associate and foundation dentists access to expert mentors, practical resources and a community of peers.
Frank Taylor & Associates has launched The Associates Club, a membership designed to help associate and foundation dentists build successful, sustainable careers.
Dental school prepares clinicians to treat patients, but much of what shapes an associate’s career sits outside clinical training: understanding an associate contract, handling a first tax bill, building a patient following, and knowing who to turn to with a difficult case. The Associates Club brings that support together in one place.
Expert mentors
Members can book a free 30-minute call with any of the club’s six mentors, who bring clinical, financial and business expertise:
- Dr Manrina Rhode, cosmetic dentist and founder of DRMR in Knightsbridge, and the first dentist appointed to Harrods and Harvey Nichols, on aesthetics, veneers and personal branding
- Dr Jin Vaghela, restorative and aesthetic dentist, foundation training educational supervisor and Dentist of the Year 2021, on clinical cases and early-career development
- Dr Kish Patel, restorative and aesthetic dentist and founder and CEO of Smile Clinic Group and Smile Dental Academy, on clinical growth and building a career in a group setting
- David Hossein, chartered accountant specialising in dentistry, on tax and personal finance
- Henry Strevens, Director at Frank Taylor & Associates, on how dental practices work as businesses
- Oliver Acton, Director at Frank Taylor & Associates, on running associate work like a business, from promotion and patient follow-up to knowing your numbers
What membership includes
Alongside the mentor call, members receive access to a dashboard of videos, guides and articles covering money, contracts, branding and the business of dentistry, with new content added regularly. They also join a private WhatsApp community where associates share candid insight on fees, earnings and lessons learned.
A programme of live member webinars begins in the new year:
- 26 January: Branding, Boldness and Building a Life You Love in Dentistry
- 23 February: Capture, Communicate, Convert: Clinical Photography for the Modern Associate
- 23 March: Through the Owner’s Eyes: What Principals Really Value in an Associate
The Young Dentists Club
For those at the very start of their careers, The Young Dentists Club sits within the membership as a smaller group with its own dinners and social events. Places are limited and membership is by application.
Joining
Membership costs £30 a month, or £5 a month for dentists in their foundation year, with the same access at either rate. Members can cancel at any time.
