Don’t make the same mistake I did – use Frank Taylor & Associates from the beginning!

A simple statement, but something that Dr Raj Kumar really wishes he’d done when he originally decided to sell his dental practice in Birmingham.  Here’s what he had to say about the sale…..

Q: Do you feel you received a good level of service from the team at Frank Taylor & Associates?

Yes.  I’d originally spent several years trying to sell my practice and lived through the stress and turmoil of four aborted sales before I came to FTA for help.  They did a very comprehensive assessment of all the fixtures and fittings in the practice and gave me an accurate sales prospectus.  Once the practice was launched to the open market, the FTA team booked in over 30 viewings.  However, it was a last minute viewer that eventually bought the practice.

The FTA team was great all the way through.  They kept the sale on track, helped chase things up and negotiated an accurate market value for the practice.  It was also good to have them at the end of the line whenever a question or issue came up.

Q: What was your biggest fear/worry about selling your practice?

A few things really….in particular the practice being over-valued and not finding a sales agent with enough potential buyers on their books.  Selling can be such a difficult time and someone really needs to stay on top of the sales process so it doesn’t come to a standstill.  One further thing that I always worried about was that the buyer would back out at the last minute or try to renegotiate the sale price.

Q: Would you do anything differently if you had the chance again?

Yes most definitely.  I would have used FTA from the beginning!  I made the mistake of initially using a local sales agent for my sale in the hope of finding a local buyer, however as it turned out, my buyer came from over 100 miles away.

Q: Do you have any advice or tips to share with future sellers?

Top of that list would be to use Frank Taylor & Associates.  It’s also important to use a good lawyer, stick to your guns and keep gross revenue up to reflect the sale value.

Q: Why did you choose to sell with FTA over other agents?

As above – I’d been through four aborted sales already and FTA came through on first attempt!

Q: What are your plans for the future now that you’ve sold the practice?

I’m going to focus on building up my private practice now and making sure I put aside more time for myself and my family.  I’m leaving UDAs for the youngsters!
