We held our annual Charity Golf Day at Aldenham Golf & Country Club in Radlett last week on Tuesday 15th September, bringing dental practice owners together for a round in the Hertfordshire sunshine and raised £4,500 for Alternatives in the process.
Alternatives provides emotional and practical support to people facing pregnancy-related challenges – a point in life when both can be in short supply. Every penny raised on the day goes straight to that work.
Registration opened at 9.30am, the first group teed off at 11am, and the rest of the day took care of itself: 18 holes, drinks, prizes and a charity raffle to finish.
Players also gave generously to the charity’s baby basket appeal, adding practical support for new parents on top of the money raised.
Chris Strevens said: “Getting out of the office and onto a golf course for the day is never a hard sell. But what makes an event like this worthwhile is what comes with it – the conversations between shots, the catching up with people, and the fact that all of it adds up to £4,500 for a charity doing genuinely important work.”
